It was a treat to be able to spend some time in Vancouver with Brad. Brad is a long-time friend of The Dahl Family and Emily. Brad has often commented on how Emily touched him with her energy and love one day – when he was suffering. That love that emanated from Emily deeply affected Brad – and helped him in many ways and he will never forget that. It was a simple encounter that happened between Emily and Brad, but it was powerful for him. Emily connected with people in a very special way.
The one picture here is from the gardens at the temple in Richmond - better known as "deer park". The picture of Em and friends is from one of the many volleyball tournaments in Vancouver - dinner at The Keg - one of the girls’ favourites! The temples garden is a place where one can meditate quietly on the nature of happiness. In the gardens and under the trees it was a real treat to discuss with Brad that what which could be called the infinite being - that which is trying to express its own nature within the limitations of this earth--and therefore trying to express itself through us, too--it is our highest duty to search for and cultivate our diviner attributes. Only in this way do we really fulfil ourselves. This search and this cultivation constitute the quest!
Brad and Emily's Dad, Sherman, share the deliberate and conscious dedication to the search for spiritual truth, freedom, and awareness. The inner meaning of life does not readily reveal itself; it must be searched for. Such a search is the goal of inquiry and must be aimed inward. You will not find it in the external world.
