Happy Fathers Day – Every Rock Has A Story

This diamond willow bowl was hand carved by Ted Ohlsen. Ted who has been carving for years, also built hunting and fishing lodges in northern Saskatchewan despite being blind from a hunting accident.  His teachings are that nature has tremendous power to connect and enrich us in so many ways. He teaches us to see beauty in all things that happen to us in life, the good and the bad.  Everything happens for a reason.

The hand carved bowl is filled with rocks that travelled from the Rocky Mountains and ended up in the Fraser River in beautiful British Columbia.

This lovely bowl and stones have now found a home on Father’s Day with this young girl and young boy who received it from their father, who received it from The Emily Dahl Foundation.

All Fathers are the Fathers of all beings. We call ourselves by the human name Father and yet if we think deeply, we know that our fathering nature is more vast and ancient than human kind. In this way, our fathering nature is part of Mother Nature.

Ted Ohlsen teaches us this deeper reality in the wonderful work of his carvings, and then he shares them with the world.
