This story starts in many ways and ultimately one would need to thank Emily Dahl for her desire to always help others. At the end of the day, it is Emily that set all this in motion. One of the goals of The Emily Dahl Foundation and Emily's family is to fulfill Emily's wishes of happiness for all. That is how she lived her life.
Just prior to covid, Sherman and Katie Dahl attended the well-known Kalamalka Rotary Dream Auction in Vernon and thanks to Patti Shales Lefkos there was a trip to Nepal in the live auction. Sherman and Katie won the bid and after many delays due to covid, finally made the trek to Nepal in March 2022. As such, it is really Emily Dahl and Patti Shales Lefkos that made all this happen. A special thanks also goes to Ace the Himalaya in Nepal for donating the trip to Kalamalka Rotary in Vernon.
Chapter Two of Rinpoche's book "The Joy of Living" discusses "The Inner Symphony" that is going on within all of us. He then points out this immense truth: "Every sentient being - that is, every creature endowed with even a basic sense of awareness - can be defined by three basic aspects or characteristics: body, speech and mind." The Emily Dahl Foundation points out that it is time we figured out how it all works. There is no shortcut to managing all the emotions we face daily - we must work at it. With an infectious joy and insatiable curiosity, Master Rinpoche weaves together the principles of Tibetan Buddhism and science in a way that has the possibility to change the way we understand the human experience.
