A Ted Ohlsen carving has found a new home in Kelowna, BC with some friends of The Emily Dahl Foundation. They sent along this lovely note: "We wanted to share a picture with the beautiful Ted Ohlsen carving and gift. Thank you again for your kind thoughts!" Ted Ohlsen of Flin Flon pioneered diamond willow carvings in the early 70’s. Challenged by the loss of his eyesight due to a hunting accident in 1960, Ted has found diamond willow carving to be a relaxing way of expressing his love for the great Canadian outdoors. Ted's experience can teach us all many things. One of them is that when the world pushes you to your knees, you're in the perfect position to meditate and pray. Ted's carvings and teachings can be a focus for contemplation. If you go into the deeper thoughts of the carving and nature you may find an interesting place. St. Francis de Sales, one of the great spiritual masters of the church said it in this way: "When you rise from meditation, remember the resolutions you have made, and, as the occasion presents itself, carefully reduce them to practice that very day."
