Micah's teammates and coaches describe him as an incredible athlete, and an even better person. Someone who thinks about and wants the best for others, something Emily Dahl is well known for. At the team's year end wrap up, Sky 18U assistant coach Mike Johnston said the following about the team's captain: “Micah is obviously a great talent, but the beautiful thing is that his talent is matched by his outstanding attitude and desire for the team to have success. It is rare to find an athlete anywhere - let alone this age - with his level of ability who is so humble, has such a team first mentality, who is extremely coachable and is eager to keep improving, and is a positive influence on everything that happens with the team. He was easily one of the best Right Side’s in the Province, is a fantastic hitter and blocker and a great passer when we asked him to step into that role for us. He could easily play any position on the court if asked to do so. There was no challenge that Micah was unwilling to take on with enthusiasm, grit, and a great attitude.” Micah has been a member of the Sky volleyball club since 2020 and participated in the Beyond Sport Volleyball Academy in 2023/2024 where he became acquainted with the Emily Dahl Foundation. At every opportunity, on the court or off the court, Micah actively displays Sky’s moto of “Passion, Kindness, Drive, and Attitude”. He is looking forward to taking what he has learned from his mentors, coaches, and teammates and put it to use as he continues his volleyball journey next year as a member of the Camosun Chargers Men’s Volleyball team and begins his post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering. We are thankful to have had a person like Micah as part of Sky Volleyball and look forward to watching him grow in the years to come. Jody Marginson (Sky Volleyball Club) and Leanne Hammond (Community Foundation North Okanagan) jointly stated: "This is so generous, so powerful, and this ultimate kindness is coming directly from Emily Dahl herself - there is no question about the depth of her energy. We are so thankful for the amazing work Emily Dahl continues to do and we could not be happier for these three outstanding athletes." Troy Lorenson from Beyond Sport Volleyball Academy and Emily's coach for a number of years stated: "Micah Snobelen is a stellar young man, both on his team, and in his contributions to Sky through coaching numerous camps. He is a great leader & humble too. It is stunning and almost unbelievable what Emily has done for so many in this community."
